Bayern Munich boosted their chances of advancing to the quarter-finals of the Champions League significantly with a 3-0 first-leg win over Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

But as Bayern coach Vincent Kompany pointed out after the game, there's still plenty of work to be done.

“We played well for one half of the round. The second half will come next week in Leverkusen. We'll have to play just as well there to reach the quarter-finals," said the Bayern coach, who took his first win against Leverkusen in four attempts.

"We've now played Leverkusen four times and today was once again all about the details, even if the result doesn't look like it in the end."

On Manuel Neuer, who was forced off with an injury and replaced by Jonas Urbig in the second half, Kompany said:

"At the moment, I don't have any information about Manuel's injury. But he apparently injured his calf while celebrating."
