After a strong pre-season, Josh Sargent could very well be leading the line for Werder Bremen when 'The Green-Whites' begin their 2019/20 campaign.

Sport Bild estimates that the 19-year-old is currently in front of the other natural strikers - including new signing Niclas Füllkrug who is working on returning to top form after he was sidelined for months in the second half of last season.

After starting just one game for Werder last season, Sargent doesn't conceal that he's eager for more first-team action in the 2019/20 campaign.

"I want to play a lot more this season than last year," he told Sport Bild and added:

"I may be in the best shape of my life right now. I'll be happy when the season finally begins."

Sargent scored two goals in 10 appearances for Werder last season.
