Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre says Erling Haaland 'has made a great impression' following his move from RB Salzburg this month and hails the mentality of the 19-year-old who scored a hat-trick in his debut against Augsburg last week.

"Erling Haaland has made a great impression, he always trains at full throttle, he always wants to win," Favre said at the pre-match press conference ahead of BVB's Bundesliga clash with FC Köln on Friday, as quoted by the club.

"If he misses a chance to score, he gets angry. It's great to train players like this - it's good for everyone," he added before refusing to guarantee that the young striker will start on Friday.

Favre then went on to praise Giovanni Reyna who made his first-team debut for Dortmund against Augsburg as well.

“In training you can see that 'Gio' Reyna has something special. If you can't see that, you're blind. At 17, he does everything very well. If he continues to play at this level, he will make great strides," Favre said.

Dortmund take on FC Köln on Friday at 20.30 CET.
