RB Leipzig boss says he could see Schick staying and plays down Werner speculation

RB Leipzig would like to keep AS Roma loanee Patrik Schick and have received no inquiries for Timo Werner so far, says club boss Markus Krösche.
RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche says he could see Patrik Schick joining the club on a permanent deal from AS Roma when his loan deal is over at the end of the season.

"Patrik feels very comfortable with us, and I can well imagine him staying," Krösche told DPA on Friday.

'Die Roten Bullen' have a €29 million purchase option for Schick, but Krösche hints that the price could be negotiated down.

"At the moment, the option hasn't changed. But maybe it will in the next few weeks. All clubs have to deal with the crisis," the RB Leipzig boss said and added:

"It will be a different transfer market. It depends on whether the leagues and European competitions can be played to the end, because a lot of income depends on it."

Krösche also responded to a report from Sky Sports claiming that Timo Werner wants to sign for Liverpool if 'The Reds' activate his €60 million release clause before it expires on June 15.

"There are no inquiries, and Timo hasn't approached us. These rumors have been circulating for weeks. As of now, there is nothing new," he underlined.
