After 11 consecutive Bundesliga titles, Bayern Munich's run has finally come to an end this season, with Bayer Leverkusen already confirmed as champions.

And looking ahead to next season, Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro believes RB Leipzig could be a bigger threat than Bayern in the race for the title.

"I would say we should definitely be among the favorites. We want to continue strengthening the team," Carro told Sky Germany.

"I think Leipzig can be strong next year if they can keep players like Xavi Simons, Olmo or Openda. I already expected Leipzig to be strong this year.

"If I had to choose between Leipzig and Bayern, I would go with Leipzig," Carro explained.

Leipzig took a big step towards the top four with a crushing 4-1 win over fifth-placed Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
