Yussuf Poulsen not worried about whether Patrik Schick will stay at RB Leipzig or not

Yussuf Poulsen insists it makes no difference to him if RB Leipzig tie Patrik Schick down to a permanent deal.
Yussuf Poulsen has slipped down the pecking order at RB Leipzig following Patrik Schick's arrival from Roma on loan last summer.

Both Schick and the club have expressed interest in turning the striker's loan deal into a permanent one.

Poulsen, however, insists he doesn't spend time worrying about whether his competitor will be staying at the club beyond the summer.

"It's not something I spend time thinking about at all. Whether the club choose to buy him or not doesn't necessarily make a difference for me," Poulsen told Viaplay Sport Live and continued:

"They might sign someone else if they don't manage to get him. That's just how it is. They try to create as much competition as possible, so that the players give everything they have.

"In the past, many teammates or competitors have been breathing down my neck and tried to take my place. And that's how it's supposed to be. Competition is part of football, and I like having someone breathing down my neck, because it makes me a better player," Poulsen said.

The 25-year-old has played 29 games this season, racking up three goals and 11 assists.
