Lars Bender expects Kai Havertz's future to be sorted out soon amid Chelsea interest

Bayer Leverkusen captain Lars Bender expects Kai Havertz's future to be sorted out before long.
Kai Havertz is said to be keen on leaving Bayer Leverkusen this summer, with Chelsea understood to be leading the race for his signature.

As far as Leverkusen captain Lars Bender knows, Havertz's future is yet to be resolved, but the 31-year-old expects a decision to be made before too long.

"Everyone's curious about what the boy will do, including me," Bender told reporters on Friday and added:

"The season will start soon. That's why I don't think it will be long before a decision is made.

"I think there are talks, maybe even with different clubs, and maybe he has already made a decision. But I don't think the final word has been said yet."

Leverkusen will continue their Europa League campaign when they face Rangers in the second leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie on 6 August. 'Die Werkself' won the first leg 3-1 in Glasgow.
