Arminia Bielefeld set to sign German striker Janni Serra

The 22-year-old has set his sights on making an impact in Bundesliga after starring for Holstein-Kiel.
Former German U-21 international Janni Serra, who plays as a forward for Holstein-Kiel in the 2. Bundesliga is on his way to Arminia Bielefeld – according to German football outlet Kicker.

Having come through Borussia Dortmund II, the now 22-year-old looks to be an exciting prospect up front for 15th placed Bielefeld, who also recently signed Greek midfielder Sebastian Vasiliadis from Paderborn. Just as the midifielder’s signing, Arminia will be hoping to transfer the striker for free.

Holstein Kiel are currently on a high-flying run, recently knocking out German champions Bayern Munich 6-5 on penalties – a match in which Serra came on as a substitute and scored a penalty. They also sit in the 4th place in the second tier with 29 points, four place off first placed Hamburg.

It will be heartbreak for Serra, who dreams of playing in the Bundesliga, if Bielefeld manage to get relegated while Kiel promote themselves to the top tier.

He has scored seven and managed two assists in 18 appearances this season across 2. Bundesliga and DFB Pokal.
