Bayern updates: Goretzka and Boateng unavailable against Bielefeld, Müller in full quarantine

Bayern trainer Hans Dieter Flick confirmed that both Leon Goretzka and Jerome Boateng returned to training over the weekend, but that neither one would be available for Monday's league fixture against Bielefeld.
After a training session on Sunday, trainer Hansi Flick updated the press corps on the return of two of his key players.

Joshua Kimmich's prefered midfield partner Leon Gortezka remains sidelined after a setback on his road back following a COVID infection. The 26-year-old has recovered from his bout with the virus to the extent that he's been able to participate in full team training, but Flick takes no chances after the national team player pulled a calf muscle.

Central defender Jerome Boateng also returned to full training on Sunday after a personal tragedy forced him to leave the team late last week. Flick made clear that the national team veteran would not feature in Monday's squad and would not be rushed back until he personally felt himself ready to play.

Team talisman Thomas Müller returned to the Bundesrepublik on Friday, emerging from a chartered flight in full protective gear reminiscent of an astronaut's space suit. After being diagnosed with the novel virus, the attacking midfielder was immediately ruled out for the round 21 and 22 fixtures.
