Sport Bild Report: Eberl has at least one more candidate to interview before choosing Xabi Alonso
Germany's SportBild engaged in a slight walk-back of the major story currently dominating German footballing circles.
Max Eberl's mega-coup to bring former Bayern star Xabi Alonso in as Borussia Mönchengladbach's next trainer evidently isn't a done deal just yet. Earlier on Monday, the country's main sporting tabloid reported that the 39-year-old's services had been secured.
Neither the club nor the BMG sporting director commented on this rumor, but footballing insiders across the Bundesrepublik considered it plausibly veracious throughout the day. On Monday evening, Bild issued an update containing only one novel piece of information.
The newspaper now reports that Eberl has at least one other candidate in mind. The other alternative is not named, but it is suggested that a decision may be delayed as Eberl concludes his scheduled interviews.
