Zidane rules himself out of running for Bayern job

Zinedine Zidane has effectively put an end to speculation linking him with the job as Bayern coach.

After being turned down by Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick, Bayern Munich are still looking for a coach to replace Thomas Tuchel this summer.

Now, Zinedine Zidane has distanced himself from speculation that he could take over.

Speaking to Sky, he was asked who he was backing to win the Champions League semi-final between Bayern and Real Madrid on Wednesday:

"Hopefully Madrid. But it's going to be a difficult game," Zidane said.

He was then asked if he'll be coaching Bayern in the future and replied:

"No. But I'm going to watch the game."

Recently, Roger Schmidt, Roberto De Zerbi and Julen Lopetgui have also been ruled out of the race to become the next Bayern coach.
