Dortmund boss wants to keep Sancho and Maatsen: "We will try everything"

Sebastian Kehl says Borussia Dortmund will "try everything" to keep Jadon Sancho and Ian Maatsen beyond the summer.

Jadon Sancho and Ian Maatsen have both made an impact for Borussia Dortmund since joining the club on loan from Manchester United and Chelsea respectively in January.

With their loan deals about to expire, the Black and Yellows are now looking into the possibility of keeping both players. But whether that's possible, especially from a financial perspective, is up in the air.

"Of course we will try everything," Kehl told Die Welt.

"But what do Chelsea and Manchester expect?" said the BVB boss, who went on to emphasize that talks with the two clubs "have not yet taken place".

On Sancho specifically, Kehl said:

“[Manchester United] can of course see how well he is playing and they may have their own ideas. For example, to sell him to another club.”

While there is no release clause in Sancho's loan deal, BVB can trigger a €40 million release clause to sign Maatsen on a permanent basis.
