Schalke are planning ahead of time for next season in the German second-tier.
Schalke will play their next season in 2.Bundesliga after almost being done with one of their worst seasons in history.
The Gelsenkirchen club have made numerous signing this season – including Huntelaar, Kolasinac, Matthew Hoppe and Mustafi. Now, they are looking to reinforce their backline with a defensive signing in Deportivo La Coruña’s Mujaid Sadick.
The 21-year-old centre-back’s contract with Deportivo expires at the end of next season, in June 2022. The Spanish-Nigerian defender has a relatively low asking price of €350,000.
He is capable of operating as a full-back when required, making him a versatile defender in any team’s ranks.
Belgian club Genk have also expressed their interest in signing Sadick, but it looks like Schalke are frontrunners in the race.
