Yussuf Poulsen has shrugged off criticism of his scoring record this season, citing tactical reasons for his lack of goals.

The Danish striker, who found the net just five times in 27 Bundesliga appearances for RB Leipzig through the 2020/21 campaign, told Kicker:

"It has a lot to do with how we played football and set up tactically.

"The way we often played, it was up to the striker to free up space for the wingers to create chances."

In total, Poulsen has scored 74 goals and made 58 assists in 293 appearances for 'Die Roten Bullen'.
