Hertha set to win race to sign Suat Serdar from Schalke

Hertha BSC are set to complete the signing of Suat Serdar Schalke 04, according to Sport Bild.

Per the report, the German capital club have won the race to sign the midfielder from the relegated Bundesliga side, beating off interest from Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt, Olympique Marseille and Stade Rennes.

Hertha and Schalke are understood to have agreed on a transfer fee of €8 million for the central midfielder, who has one year left on his deal.

Schalke paid €11 million to sign Serdar from Mainz in 2018. Since then, he has gone on to make 83 appearances for the Gelsenkirchen side with 11 goals and six assists to his name.
