Speaking to Germany's Sport Bild, top Gladbach personnel exec Max Eberl that he expects 21-year-old Danish left-back Andreas Poulsen to return to the club after the conclusion of his second loan stint at FK Austria Wien expires on July 31st. The €4.5 million purchase accrued only slightly more experience in the Austrian Bundesliga, appearing in four first-team matches.

The one-time FC Midtjylland prospect still awaits his first Bundesliga appearance. It is likely that the foals will wish to retain him this time. Incoming trainer Adi Hütter will at the very least need a back-up for Ramy Bensebaini following the departure of Oscar Wendt. Until the matter of Matthias Ginter's contract extension is sorted out, it's highly unlikely that the club will consider offloading any defenders.

"Andreas will return to us from Vienna," Eberl confirmed when speaking to the sporting magazine on Monday.

It remains to be seen if Poulsen will get an opportunity to make his mark. Hütter has many talented and versatile young fullbacks he will certainly wish to test drive next season. Louis Jordan Beyer and January arrival Joe Scally can be presumed to be ahead of Poulsen on the depth chart.
