Report: Man United up Sancho bid to €85-90 million, finalization of transfer close

Germany's Sport Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United are close to officially concluding the agreement for the sale of Jadon Sancho.
According to Germany's main sporting tabloid, Jadon Sancho's eternally long rumored transfer to Manchester United appears to finally be imminent. As the saga plays out for the second consecutive summer, the two clubs were last reported to be at loggerheads over a transfer sum of some €70 million.

Now, multiple media sources are reporting that the English Red Devils have increased their bid to a sum between €85 and €87 million plus bonuses. This remains far below the €125 million plus Dortmund are said to have demanded last summer.

Local NRW newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten notes that this may still fall short of the €95 million the BVB have set as their latest asking price. The fact that the Schwarzgelben reportedly considered offloading Sancho for €90 million as part of their early May calculus leads many to believe that a deal shall be concluded within days.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that both sides are confident of concluding the transfer soon. Rumors of potential replacements for Sancho have been appearing since late 2020. After months of scouting, the BVB now seem confident that Dutch winger Donyell Malen can serve as a replacement.
