Four goals for Serhou Guirassy. Four assists Pascal Groß. On the night Niko Kovac picked his first Bundesliga win with Dortmund, the two players stole the headlines with scintillating form to crush Union Berlin.

“Serhou is World Class,” declared Dortmund’s coach in an interview with Sky after the Guinean reached 23 goals in all competitions. While Robert Lewandowski’s four goals against Real Madrid remained Dortmund’s famous modern-day quartet, Erling Haaland is the last player to do so for the club in Bundesliga. Back in 2020, Haaland scored four in a 5-2 win away at Hertha Berlin before Lucien Favre replaced him much to the Norwegian’s frustration.

Despite missing a penalty-kick on Wednesday, Guirassy leads the scoring charts in the Champions League. Groß was equally vital in BVB’s Champions League run that will now see them face LOSC Lille in the Round of 16.

"Pascal (Groß) is immensely important. He is playing in the double 6 defensively. But, when we attack, he is an 8. He has an overview, calmness on the ball, and an eye for his teammates. That is what we all want to see from him." said Kovac about the German international.
