Bayern Munich defender Hiroki Ito has been offered to Ajax by his management, according to Absolut Bayern.

The 27-year-old is understood to be a candidate to strengthen the Dutch club’s defence.

Ito could be allowed to leave Bayern before the transfer window closes if a suitable offer arrives, with the Japan international seemingly facing an uncertain future at the Bundesliga champions.

Given the fierce competition for places in Vincent Kompany’s defence, Ito’s chances of getting consistent playing time appear bleak if he remains in Munich.

The defender was an unused substitute in both Bayern’s 2-1 DFL-Supercup victory over Borussia Dortmund and their 5-1 Bundesliga opening-day win over Stuttgart.

Bayern paid a reported €23.5 million to sign the versatile defender from Stuttgart in 2024.
