With Bayer Leverkusen’s Jarell Quansah understood to have attracted interest from a number of European heavyweights, Real Madrid are reportedly particularly keen on the defender, according to Sky Germany.
The German broadcaster claims that the La Liga giants are regularly monitoring Quansah as they search for long-term solutions in defence and see the former Liverpool player as a candidate with significant potential for development.
However, Real Madrid are not Quansah’s only suitors, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal also reportedly keeping tabs on the 23-year-old.
Liverpool hold a clear advantage in the race, as they have a €70 million buy-back option on their former academy player that is valid until June 15, 2027.
Even if Liverpool don't intend to bring Quansah back permanently, they could activate the clause before selling him on to a club such as Real Madrid.
Signed from Liverpool for €35 million last summer, Quansah has started three of Bayer Leverkusen’s six games so far this season under new head coach Carles Martinez.
