The transfer of VfB Stuttgart's young talent Mirza Catovic to RB Salzburg fell through, based on reports from Sky Germany.
Journalist Kerry Hau and others are aware that the deal fell through at the last minute of today's transfer deadline in Austria.
The two clubs had agreed on a transfer fee of €3million for the 18-year-old with a future buy-back option of €12million.
However, the Bundesliga club delayed their response and it evenually became too late to complete the deal in time.
The news comes as a bitter blow for the Serbian midfielder, who has so far only played for Stuttgart's U-23's in the 3.Liga.
Catovic was even linked with a transfer to fellow German topflight side TSG Hoffenheim, but a deal never materialized.
