UEFA Women’s Champions League debutants Manchester United knocked out Atletico Madrid to clash with FC Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals. The WSL side won last week’s first-leg 3-0 in Madrid before two first-half goals saw them cruise to the last eight comfortably tonight.

Bayern Munich, who finished the league phase in fourth place, will be Manchester United’s opponents in the quarter-final. José Barcala’s side beat fellow English side Arsenal 3-2 during the league phase round. Meanwhile, Manchester United were at the receiving end of a 5-2 defeat away at Wolfsburg on matchday four.

Wolfsburg will face OL Lyonnes in the quarter-finals after seeing off Juventus earlier on Thursday. The winners of the tie will face either Arsenal or Chelsea in the semi-final. There will also be an all-Liga F clash as Barcelona and Real Madrid will fight for the right to face either Bayern or Manchester United.

This season’s final will be played in Oslo at the Ullevaal Stadion on 23rd May.
