VfL Bochum and Greuther Fürth settled for a draw in one of Saturday afternoon’s 2. Bundesliga encounters. Both teams could drop to the bottom half of the standings if results go against them in the remaining action of the weekend.

The hosts took an early lead with Philipp Hofmann heading home from Maximilian Wittek’s corner-kick. Fürth had to wait until the 71st minute for the equalizing goal as Omar Sillah scored his first goal for the club after Dennis Srbeny’s excellent through pass.

Mats Pannewig reduced the chances of Uwe Rösler’s men searching for the winning goal with his second yellow card ten minutes before time. Bochum only conceded four goals so far this campaign, but they also only found the net four times.

Greuther Fürth have five points from the first five matchdays of the campaign. Heiko Vogel’s side will host Magdeburg next week, while Bochum are away at struggling Hannover.
