Bayern boss reveals details of Sané playing through injury against Arsenal
Christoph Freund has revealed details of Leroy Sané playing through injury in both games against Arsenal.
Leroy Sané has been struggling with a pubic bone problem in recent weeks, but still managed to play in both of Bayern Munich's quarter-final matches against Arsenal.
Speaking after last night's 1-0 win, which put Bayern through to the semifinals, sporting director Christoph Freund revealed just how far Sané went to play.
"It's absolutely borderline. The medical staff did everything they could, Leroy gritted his teeth and put in a great performance," Freund told Sky Germany.
"He hasn't really been able to train for a number of weeks, but somehow he's back in games like this."
Sané is expected to be rested when Bayern travel to face Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
