Borussia Dortmund got off on the right foot to kickstart December with a 2-0 win over TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday. Although not flawless, goals from Julian Brandt and Nico Schlotterbeck ensured victory.
Now their attention swing back to European involvement for their midweek clash with FK Bodø/Glimt. Niko Kovač's side will be eager to end their Champions League duties for 2025 with a win on home soil.
Having comfortably dispatched Villarreal 4-0 last time out, confidence should be brimming ahead of facing their Norwegian opponents. Especially considering Bodø have only taken one point on their travels thus far.
Still, the Eliteserien runners-up can't be taken for granted. Even though their domestic action ended in late November, they've proven with a couple of draws and narrow defeats that they can mix it with Europe's elite.
Now, they have to take that nothing to lose mentality south to Westphalia as they enter the Westfalenstadion amphitheatre. Against a BVB side who are far from invincible, anything can happen if Bodø get it right.
When kick-off comes on Wednesday night, Dortmund must have their wits about them. Top-scorer Kasper Waarst Høgh bagged 17 goals in Norway, with ex-Frankfurt winger Jens Hauge and Patrick Berg also threats.
Team news and predicted lineups:
As has been the theme under Niko Kovač all season, Dortmund continue to have a good bill of health. Niklas Süle (bruised toe) is the sole noticeable absentee having missed the last 8 games across all competitions.
As for Bodø/Glimt, they too have close to a full squad to call upon. However, the involvement of Ola Brynhildsen and Haitam Aleesami (hamstring) is doubtful given their recent long spells on the sidelines.
