In a surprise deadline-day move, Brighton & Hove Albion opened talks with VfB Stuttgart for the signing of Chema Andrés. According to Sky Sports, it’s questionable whether the clubs would reach an agreement with only a few hours left in the transfer window.
Chema Andrés scored 3 goals in 25 Bundesliga appearances after joining Stuttgart from Real Madrid Castilla for only €3 million last summer. Although his competition was the then-captain Atakan Karazor, the 21-year-old regularly featured in Sebastian Hoeneß’s lineups in all competitions.
Real Madrid aren’t expected to exercise their buyback option for €15 million, although they will still have another chance to do so next summer. Meanwhile, Brighton are attempting to seal a deal in the coming hours for the midfielder who has a contract until 2030 with Stuttgart.
