The team sheets are in for one of the oddest UEFA Europa Conference League fixtures of the 2024/25 campaign. The tiny Swabian village of Heidenheim prepares to welcome English giants Chelsea FC to the 15,000-seat Voith Arena. Enzo Maresca's roster - if one goes by the transfermarkt listings - is valued at approximately 120 times that of Frank Schmidt's FCH players.

Schmidt makes five changes to the team that got steamrolled by defending champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the league on Saturday. As Schmidt already noted, lead striker Marvin Pieringer remains unavailable after incurring an injury in the defeat. Mikkel Kaufmann takes Pieringer's place up front. German phenom Paul Wanner is also once again healthy enough to start and replaces Adrian Beck.

Tim Siersleben, Leonardo Scienza, and Norman Theuerkauf rotate in for Jan Schöppner, Jonas Föhrenbach, and Benedikt Gimber. It looks to be the case that Schmidt will opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation with Lennard Maloney and Niklas Dorsch working a double-six in midfield. All players are back in natural positions after some tactical experimentation went awry on Saturday.
