Less than two weeks before the 2025/26 DFB-Pokal final between Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart in Berlin, the German Football Association has announced that Sven Jablonski will be the referee.

It will be the first time the 36-year-old officiates a German Cup final.

The 36-year-old, who whistled the match between 1. FC Köln and 1. FC Heidenheim on Sunday – his 125th Bundesliga game – will be assisted on the sidelines by Sascha Thielert and Eduard Beitinger.

The refereeing team also includes fourth official Frank Willenborg and fifth official Eric Müller.

Sören Storks and Christian Fischer will act as video assistant referees, and for the first time they will be on site in Berlin rather than working from the Video Assistant Centre in Cologne.

“It is a great honour to officiate this final. For us as a team, the DFB-Pokal final is an absolute highlight, and we are extremely excited for a special football night in Berlin,” said Jablonski.

The final between record German champions Bayern Munich and defending DFB-Pokal holders VfB Stuttgart is scheduled to kick off at 20:00 on May 23.
