Bayer Leverkusen star Ibrahim Maza has refused to rule out recording 30 goal contributions this season ahead of Saturday's Bundesliga meeting with Augsburg.

The 20-year-old heads into the clash after impressing in Leverkusen's emphatic 4-0 victory over Union Berlin last weekend, where he was deployed from the left-hand side.

Asked by DAZN ahead of the clash whether he feels more dangerous from the left or as a number ten, the Algerian said: "I hope in both. I'm versatile, and I'm simply ready to play wherever the coach uses me."

Maza was then informed that the interviewer had tipped him to record 15 goal contributions and double his market value this term, with the Leverkusen youngster responding with: "I hope so. I'm giving my best, and we'll see what comes out of it at the end.

"I just hope that we can achieve our goals as a team, that we can win titles, and then we'll see."

When asked whether 30 contributions are possible, Maza said that "it's not impossible."

Leverkusen are preparing to take on Augsburg, aiming to build on their 4-0 win last Saturday.

Maza expects a different test against the Bundesliga leaders, though.

"I think both teams have to have mutual respect for each other," he said.

"They've had a great start to the season, and we respect them, but that won't intimidate us.

"We'll still give our best and hope that we can carry on in the same way as last week."
