Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has addressed speculation that Bayern Munich have renewed their interest in Jamie Gittens.

When asked by Sport1 whether he's in talks with Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl about the winger, Kehl replied:

“I’m not currently in contact with Max.”

He went on to emphasize that he maintains a “very good" relationship with the Bayern chief.

“We know each other and value one another. But at the moment, there’s nothing more to say on the matter.”

Chelsea made a strong push to sign Gittens earlier this month, but the 20-year-old ultimately stayed at BVB for the Club World Cup after the German side reportedly rejected a €55 million offer.

Still, a summer departure for Gittens remains likely.

“I understand the impatience – that people are hoping for updates every day. I’m aware of that,” Kehl said.

“We still have a bit of time. We’re working on some departures and hoping to make progress there in the coming days. We’re pushing hard.”
