Kossounou close to €45 million move to England, Kicker reports

Kicker reports that Odilon Kossounou is close to leaving Bayer Leverkusen in a €45 million move to England. Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are named as suitors.

Bayer Leverkusen have received an offer of €45 million for Odilon Kossounou, according to Kicker.

The offer is likely to come from Crystal Palace, who are in need of a centre-back after selling Joachim Andersen to Fulham for €35 million.

However, Newcastle United could also be interested after failing to agree a deal with Crystal Palace for Marc Guehi.

Both clubs are also said to have made inquiries about Kossounou's Leverkusen teammate Edmond Tapsoba, but Leverkusen don't want to sell the Burkina Faso international.

Crystal Palace are also said to be interested in VfL Wolfsburg's Maxence Lacroix.

If Kossounou does leave, Liverpool's Sepp van den Berg could be his replacement, with the Dutchman reportedly facing a decision between the Werkself and Brentford.
