Lautern land 3. Liga's top scorer
Jannik Mause | 1. Kaiserslautern |
FC Ingolstadt 04 striker Jannik Mause is moving to the Betzenberg ahead of next season. The former Mainz academy man heads back to the Pfalz for a reported transfer fee of around €600,000. Mause led the German third division in scoring last year, netting 18 goals for the Bavarian "Autostädter". Mause was among the third division's top there overall offensive performers. The others, Dortmund's Ole Pohlmann and Ulm's Leonardo Scienzia, have also moved up to bigger clubs.
"We are delighted that we were able to sign the top scorer of the past third division season," FCK managing director Thomas Hengen noted in a club statement, "Jannik has consistently shown in recent years that he not only knows where the goal is, but is also continuously developing. For his size, he is very dynamic and also has a good understanding of the game. He can be used flexibly in attack, but is of course primarily a center forward."
"When the request came, it was immediately clear to me that I wanted to play for this club with its great tradition and these fans," the player himself added, "The fan culture in Kaiserslautern is outstanding and unique in this form in Germany. I'm looking forward to enjoying the atmosphere here in the stadium and hope to have a successful season with FCK."
