Speaking to Sky Germany, Wittmann stated that there is "interest from other clubs" and added that "Nico must decide for himself" if he wants to leave or not.
In a separate interview with Bild, the agent elaborated on how the left-back sees his current situation.
"Nico has not played, is dissatisfied with himself, is looking for a new sporting challenge, is very open to a transfer. That's how it is when it doesn't fit, when you don't appreciate each other anymore," said Wittmann.
However, finding an interested club that meets both the financial and sporting demands of Nico Schulz is not an easy task.
"He will not change just for the sake of it. He will join a good club, and if that's not possible, then he'll just stay," emphasized the agent.
Schulz has struggled to live up to the expectations at Signal Iduna Park following his €25.5 million switch from Hoffenheim in 2019.
The 29-year-old started just nine Bundesliga games through the 2021/22 season.
