Confirmed: Hertha re-sign and re-loan Daishawn Redan
Hertha BSC confirmed a contract extension and a renewed loan out for Dutch attacker Daishawn Redan on Monday.
As expected, 21-year-old Dutch/Suriname attacker Daishawn Redan will not be rejoining parent club Hertha BSC this coming season. Somewhat surprisingly, however, Fredi Bobic and the higher ups in the Hertha front office are not prepared to give up on the prospect.
Redan was signed to a new deal through 2024 on Monday. After returning from Erdevisie side PEC Zwolle, the player now heads to FC Utrecht for the upcoming campaign. He will be due back in Berlin at the end of next season.
"For a player of his age, match practice is extremely important," Bobic noted in a statement accompanying the confirmation of the deal, "We are therefore pleased that Daishawn can continue to get this at the highest level in his home country despite Zwolle's relegation."
Redan scored six goals and chipped in three assists for Zwolle last season. After stints with FC Groningen and Zwolle, the youngster now heads to his third loan locale in his native country.
At present, there is no new news as to what Hertha wishes to do with Redan's Dutch/Suriname compatriot Javairo Dilrosun, who is also due back from loan at the end of the month.
