After five seasons with Germany's RB Leipzig, 28-year-old Swiss net minder Yvon Mvogo is officially leaving German football. The former Young Boys Bern start, for whom the German Red Bulls once shelled out €5 million midway through the 2017/18 ended up making just five Bundesliga appearances for his German club. Mvogo spent the last two seasons on loan at PSV Eindhoven.

Lorient FC are the ultimate takers for the scantly used keeper. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed. Mvogo maintains a market value of €2.8 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. His new contract in Brittany runs through 2024.

Leipzig, having already offloaded Josep Martinez earlier this summer, appear prepared to enter the season with newly-acquired journeyman Janis Blaswich as captain Peter Gulacsi's primary backup. Two keepers--Jonas Nickisch and Timo Schlieck--have been called into the club's training camp to compete for the #3 role.
