RB Leipzig have announced the signing of 30-year-old goalkeeper Janis Blaswich on a free transfer from Dutch side Heracles Almelo.

The former Gladbach shot-stopper will join 'Die Roten Bullen' in the summer on a contract until 2025.

"Janis has been a regular starter and captain for four years now in the Dutch first division," said RB Leipzig goalkeeping coach Frederik Gössling.

"He is an intelligent and no-nonsense kind of goalkeeper, and his performances are very consistent. His experience and character will be good for our goalkeeping team and the rest of the team as well. I’m looking forward to getting to work with him soon."

Blaswich commented:

"I’m very happy to join RB Leipzig and to be moving to a top Bundesliga club in the summer. The conditions here at Leipzig, with the training centre and the amazing stadium right in the middle of the city, are really something special. I will be joining a great goalkeeping team with coach Frederik Gößling and Péter Gulácsi. He is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe and I am looking forward to working with him."
