BVB bosses praise Guerreiro: 'He's in exceptionally good shape'

The Borussia Dortmund bosses have lauded praise on Raphael Guerreiro after his two goals against Monaco on Tuesday.
Borussia Dortmund's Raphael Guerreiro made his fourth start of the season in Tuesday's Champions League game against AS Monaco and thanked for the trust as he scored both goals in the 2-0 win.

Despite just playing 221 minutes in the Champions League this season, Guerreiro has netted four times which makes him Dortmund's top scorer of the tournament so far.

"When 'Rapha' has been given the chance, he has always taken it," Sebastian Kehl, Dortmund's head of the licensing player department, told Kicker.

Guerreiro's progress at Dortmund has been hampered by a lot of injuries since he joined the club in 2016, but at the moment, the 24-year-old is in great shape, says BVB sporting director Michael Zorc.

"'Rapha' is a great footballer who has had incredibly many minor injuries during the past year and thus never got into the rhythm. Now, he's in exceptionally good shape," Zorc told Kicker.

Guerreiro, who can play both at left-back, in central midfield and on the left wing, will be hoping to be in the line-up again when Borussia Dortmund face Werder Bremen on Saturday.
