"I think comparisons with Messi are always an honor," Musiala told reporters at a press conference today.

"But Messi has been playing at a top level his whole life. It's a bit difficult to compare anyone with Messi. I want to focus on myself and what I can do better as Jamal."

19-year-old Musiala could make his World Cup debut against Japan on Wednesday, while Messi, 35, is taking part in his fifth World Cup tournament with Argentina.
