If a report appearing today in Germany's "Sport Bild" is to be believed, Holstein Kiel striker Fabian Reese is already in Berlin holding talks about a permanent transfer to Berlin's Charlottenburg side. The 25-year-old 2. Bundesliga veteran has amassed nine scorer points with his north German side in the second division this season.

With an estimated market worth of approximately €1.7 million, Reese is among the highest valued 2. Bundesliga players sitting on an expiring contract. Hertha can acquire the former German youth international on a free transfer at the end of the season, but are said to be willing to pay Kiel a transfer sum in the six-figure-range to bring him in this January.

Reese has scored a total of 12 2. Bundesliga goals for Kiel and SpVgg Greuther Fürth. He made a total of 13 top flight appearances when playing for FC Schalke 04. The versatile attacker, who can also work as an attacking midfielder or even a wingback, could conceivably help Hertha in a number of ways.
