Hoffenheim 'in contact with a candidate' who could replace Nagelsmann

Hoffenheim are in contact with a possible replacement for Julian Nagelsmann, club owner Dietmar Hopp reveals.
Hoffenheim are yet to announce a successor for head coach Julian Nagelsmann, who will join RB Leipzig after this season, but are in touch with a contender, says club owner Dietmarr Hopp.

"We are in contact with a candidate. If it works out, I see a good chance of playing as successfully as we do today," Hopp told the Frankfurter Rundschau.

The main candidate is said to be Red Bull Salzburg coach Marco Rose who has been linked with the job for a while now - and Hopp admits he is impressed by what the 42-year-old has achieved in Austria.

"I see the results that Rose has achieved with Red Bull Salzburg - and they speak for a successful job," Hopp said.

Rose won the UEFA Youth League final with Red Bull Salzburg's under-19 team before he was hired to coach the senior side in June 2017.

In his first season, Rose won the Austrian championship, reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League and the final of the Austrian Cup which was lost to Sturm Graz.
