Already assured of a place in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League, Germany can secure top spot in Group A3 with a win over Bosnia-Herzegovina at the Europa-Park Stadion in Freiburg on Saturday night.

It's been just over a month since the two sides last met, with Germany winning that game 2-1 in Bosnia-Herzegovina thanks to a brace from Deniz Undav.

Bosnia-Herzegovina went on to lose 2-0 to Hungary, extending their winless run to 10 matches, nine of which have ended in defeat.

Germany, on the other hand, have been in fine form in 2024, with their only defeat of the year being their extra-time loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals in July.

On the injury front, Germany will be without Niclas Füllkrug (calf), Jamie Leweling (thigh), Aleksandar Pavlovic (collarbone), Deniz Undav (thigh) and Angelo Stiller (muscle). In addition, Florian Wirtz has been struggling with an infection this week and is a doubt.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann said he will take into account the amount of recent games the players have played for their clubs when selecting his team.

“Some players are carrying knocks. The boys have three weeks with several games in their legs, so we have to be considerate. It's a balancing act between the ambitions of the national team and the legitimate demands of the clubs. We are in dialogue with them,” he said.
