Bayern Munich are still looking to bring in a goalkeeper following Manuel Neuer's season-ending leg injury, head coach Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed.

After initially exploring the possibility of recalling Alex Nübel early from his loan spell at Monaco, Bayern switched focus to Gladbach's Yann Sommer, but their efforts have been unsuccessful so far.

But Nagelsmann insists Bayern will keep trying, stating that if the Bavarians can't sign someone who can go straight into the team, they still need a back-up for Sven Ulreich, who has covered for Neuer a number of times in the past.

"I trust 'Ulle', I've already emphasized that. Generally speaking, we still have to get another goalkeeper - regardless of whether he's the number one or number two," Nagelsmann told reporters today.

"I don't think anything has changed. There's no club willing to let their keeper go now. There are few goalkeepers who can improve us. Sven Ulreich is aware that we may get a number two, but may also get a number one. He's relaxed and doing well."
