Report: Leipzig consider Skhiri pick up

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that RB Leipzig are considering snatching up Köln's high-profile Tunisian midfielder Ellyes Skhiri as a midfield reinforcement this summer.
With Eintracht Frankfurt apparently out of the race, RB Leipzig are now emerging as suitors for Tunisian midfield talent Ellyes Skhiri. Germany's "Sport Tabloid" reports that Max Eberl and the RB administrative team are mulling over whether to make a play for the €13-million-valued player; particularly in light of the fact that they may be losing an additional midfielder this summer in the form of Amadou Haidara.

The Saxons must already cope with the loss of Austrian six-shooter Konrad Laimer; whose move to German record champs FC Bayern München next year remains a poorly kept secret. Slovenian Kevin Kampl, sitting on a contract good only through the end of next season, may also be moved. A replacement for Laimer has already been procured. Salzburg talent Nicolas Seiwald will make the lateral move from one RB club to another.

Skhiri's departure from the cathedral city after his current contract expires at the end of the season is confirmed. The 28-year-old has logged more minutes than any other Köln player this season. The Lunel-native has scored seven goals and chipped in one assist in 40 appearances across all competitions for the Domstädter.
