On Matchday 23, Bochum face Gladbach and Gerardo Seoane, whose seat is starting to warm as his side continue to fall down the league table.

Gladbach

Gladbach are winless in five games and a loss last weekend to Leipzig dropped the side just outside the relegation zone to 15th in the table. They’ve scored only two goals over this stretch and are desperately searching for any sort of offensive production.

It’s unclear how much longer Gerardo Seoane will be given, but their next three games against bottom-half teams should decide his fate. Injuries are really starting to pile up and some lineup changes will likely be made this weekend, as American Joe Scally could be replaced on the right by Stefan Lainer.

Seoane commented, "Everyone here knows the situation we find ourselves in. We can look at the table and know that we have to pick up points. Our aim is to put in the best-possible performance on Saturday and preferably get some points on the board in this game."

Alassane Plea and Tomas Cvancara are out with injuries, while Ko Itakura and Nico Elvedi are both suspended. Luca Netz is doubtful with an illness and Jonas Omlin still isn’t ready for a return to the pitch.

Bochum

The club and its fans are riding high heading into Matchday 23 after an incredible win over Bayern last weekend. Bochum have moved all the way up to 11th in the table and are now breathing freely away from the relegation battle.

Kevin Stöger has been really sensational this season and Takuma Asano is giving defenses headaches on the wing. Matus Bero will likely replace suspended captain Anthony Losilla in midfield this weekend and Cristian Gamboa is expected to start at right-back once again.

In his presser, Thomas Letsch mentioned, “This team sticks together. Of course, not everyone can be satisfied. This shouldn't be the case even if you don't play. We have several options. And when someone is needed, they have to be there. Good training is a prerequisite.”

Losilla will be serving a yellow-card suspension. Tim Oermann, Mohammed Tolba and Michael Esser are out with injuries.
