Nico Schulz expresses ambition to join a top club

Hoffenheim's Nico Schulz has expressed desire to join a bigger club.
Nico Schulz admits he will consider leaving Hoffenheim if a top club show concrete interest in him.

"I'd like to join a top club at some point. The people in charge here knows that. It's no secret. If such a club come knocking, I'm now at an age when we need to sit down and decide if the time has come," the 26-year-old told Kicker.

Schulz has been heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund, and the left-back says he sees Lucien Favre's team as one of the interesting options in Germany.

"There are a few top clubs [in the Bundesliga], and Dortmund are definitely one of them," Schulz said before making it clear that a move abroad is also a possibility:

"I'm no longer a little boy. I've matured and would be able to get along anywhere."

Schulz has previously said that he considers Italian Serie A giants Inter his dream club.

The former Borussia Mönchengladbach player has made 35 appearances for Hoffenheim this season, scoring two goals and making nine assists. His contract runs until 2021.
