Kovač: "We’re not consistent enough"

BVB's head coach felt his side lacked consistency which led to their 2-2 draw with Bodø/Glimt.

As their Champions League aspirations took a dent tonight, Niko Kovač reacted to Dortmund's 2-2 stalemate with FK Bodø/Glimt.

“That was definitely too little. We expected more, which would have been possible," the 54-year-old coach told DAZN.

“We didn’t take advantage of the chances we had. What really annoys me is the fact that we conceded a goal from a throw-in when we were a man down,” he added.

Kovač also highlighted inconsistency as what he deems a glaring issue with his team. He cursed the result which he labeled a chance gone missing.

"We’re not consistent enough. When you concede two goals at this level, you don’t win games. We had our chances, but we didn’t take them.

“Then you have to win a game like this 2-1. We missed a huge opportunity because we weren’t consistent enough,” he concluded.

The Westphalian club now turns it's attention back to the Bundesliga as they make the trip to Breisgau to face SC Freiburg on Sunday.
