Nico Schulz, Mats Hummels, Julian Brandt and Thorgan Hazard have come in to vastly improve Borussia Dortmund's squad depth. The four newcomers provide BVB coach Lucien Favre with plenty of options to rotate which makes it difficult to predict the line-up of 'Die Schwarzgelben'.

Favre could line up in an offensive 4-1-4-1 formation, which could feature all the above-mentioned newcomers, but he could also choose a 4-2-3-1 system and replace one of the offensive players with either Julian Weigl, who has had a very strong pre-season, or Thomas Delaney.

Meanwhile, Achraf Hakimi and Łukasz Piszczek battle to start at right-back while Thorgan Hazard could start on the left wing after Raphael Guerreiro has picked up a muscle injury (updated August 9).
