Manuel Neuer is considering retiring from the German national team after the European Championship in 2020, according to Sport Bild.

The 33-year-old is confident he will still be Germany's first-choice goalkeeper at Euro 2020, but could let Marc-André ter Stegen take over the responsibility after the tournament.

Neuer has previously said that he isn't sure if he will still be playing for Germany at the World Cup in 2022.

"I don't know if I will still be there in 2022, because there are many factors that play a role in this regard. I have to see how my body is doing and how fit I'll be at that age," Neuer said during last year's World Cup.

Meanwhile, at a club level, Neuer is expected to extend his contract with Bayern München beyond 2021 in the near future, as per the report.
