Claudio Pizarro backs Florian Kohfeldt to turn things around at Werder

Claudio Pizarro is confident that Werder Bremen can turn things around under Florian Kohfeldt.
Werder Bremen's players remain fully behind head coach Florian Kohfeldt after Tuesday's shocking 0-5 loss to Mainz at home, says Claudio Pizarro.

'The Green-Whites' have won just one of their last seven Bundesliga games under Kohfeldt, but Pizarro insists he has full faith in the 37-year-old.

"It wasn't good enough; we're all aware of that. We've spoken about it as a team and will analyse it even further so that it never happens again. We let Florian down yesterday because we failed to do our job. That's on us and it's now our responsibility to put it right," Pizarro said, as quoted by the club.

"We're all fully behind him. We play for him and for the club. However we didn't show that yesterday and we're all really disappointed. Florian is a fighter and I know he has complete confidence in the team to turn it around."

Werder sit 15th in the Bundesliga table prior to Wednesday's games.
