Bayern's purchase option for Coutinho has expired, Rummenigge reveals

Bayern München have let their purchase option for Philippe Coutinho expire, reveals club boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
Bayern München CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that the German champions have opted not to trigger their €120 million purchase option for FC Barcelona loanee Philippe Coutinho.

"The option expired and we haven't activated it," Rummenigge told Der Spiegel (via Goal.com).

"We're going to plan our squad for next season and we'll see if he still has a role to play with us or not," he added.

The Brazilian international has made 32 appearances for Bayern this season, racking up nine goals and eight assists.
